CaixaForum, the social and cultural centre of "la Caixa" charitable foundation, is located in one of Barcelona's outstanding Modernist buildings. It was first a one-of-a-kind textile factory owned by industrialist Casimir Casaramona, who commissioned it be built at the foot of Montjuïc Hill by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, one of the three Catalan architects (along with Lluís Domènech i Montaner and Antoni Gaudí) most representative of Modernism. The building is a unique work of early 20th-century Catalan Modernist industrial architecture.

CaixaForum Palma, located in the former Gran Hotel de Palma, is one of the city's most emblematic Modernist buildings. Recovered by "la Caixa" charity foundation, CaixaForum Palma was inaugurated in 1993 as a cultural centre. Modernism is one of the distinguishing features of CaixaForum Palma for two reasons: because of the architectural style of the building itself and because the permanent collection is made up of the works of painter Hermen Anglada Camarasa.

CaixaForum Sevilla hopes to become a space that will help to promote art and the humanities, encourage debate about ideas, trends and research in the modern world, and promote dialogue and thought about major social transformations.  The building, designed by the Sevillian architect Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra, through an ingenious system of skylights and the intelligent distribution of areas, makes it possible to bring light inside this new space, thereby achieving a pleasant balance between the introspection required for exhibition rooms and the building’s connection with the unique atmosphere of the capital of Andalusia.
